Presenter: Matthew Chiu

Matthew Chiu is the CEO and founder of Almond Research Ltd. He has held technical positions with Oracle, and Samsung and has co-founded 3 tech startups in the US, Canada and Asia. He holds degrees in computer science from Cornell University (BS) and Stanford University (MS).

Insight

The barrier to entry for photogrametry in GIS is dramatically lowered through the technology of Gaussian Splats, and now everyone is welcome!

Abstract

Almond AI is pleased to introduce our QGIS plugin for working with Gaussian Splats in a GIS workflow. The presentation will start with a very quick intro to Gaussian Splats, and its application in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. A demo of our plugin for importing and editing Splats in the QGIS software will also be given. Participants will be invited to learn more about our Open Source roadmap and to participate in any future beta testing of our platform for Gaussian Splats in GIS.
