What you need to know about the Federal Airborne LiDAR data acquisition Guideline and the USGS LiDAR Base Specification

The Canadian government first formally created LiDAR specifications in 2017. The document was updated in 2020 to Version 3.0. This session will review the Canadian Federal LiDAR specifications and compare them to the USGS LiDAR Base specification, updated in 2022..

We will discuss LiDAR for Flood Mapping, as many agencies have used the NDMP to fund these types of LiDAR projects.

We will talk about the ground control requirements of both specifications with respect to non-vegetative vertical accuracy (NVA) and vegetative vertical accuracy (VVA) control points. We will talk about classification and deliverable options for a survey

Presenter:  Susan Muleme Kasumba, Business Development Manager! Airborne Imaging, LP

Susan Muleme Kasumba is a graduate of Sir Sanford Fleming’s GIS/Cartography program and attended the University of Guelph.
