How can FME help in Asset Management?

In this session, learn how to leverage FME in asset and infrastructure management. FME is a powerful ETL tool (extract, transform, load) allowing us to connect, manipulate, validate and report on data from over 350 different formats, databases and applications. As we need to manage an increasing amount of information, we need to find new ways to automate steps in our tasks and data workflow processes. FME allows you to converge and synchronize information across your organization and validate and report on data in different systems (GIS, Finance, Asset management, Engineering) for a variety of stakeholders. Skills in data management and process optimization are gaining importance in our rapidly changing industry.

The hands-on exercises of this workshop will introduce participants to FME and introduce techniques in bringing CAD data into a GIS, comparing and synchronizing data in different systems, validating attributes or geometry, and reporting on information that can be viewed by upper management. We will explore options of how to chain different FME workspaces together to create powerful, multi-step automated processes.
