Biography

Courtney Dunn is a seasoned GIS professional with over 9 years of experience turning spatial data into actionable insights. A proud graduate of Fleming College’s GIS Applications Specialist program (Class of 2015) and holder of a B.Sc. in Geography and Environmental Science from Trent University, Courtney has always had a passion for mapping the world—both digitally and literally.

Since 2020, she’s been bringing her expertise to Peterborough County as the GIS and Data Coordinator, where she helps drive data-driven decisions across departments. Before that, she ventured north to Labrador, where she led GIS initiatives for the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay as their GIS Technologist.

In 2023, Courtney earned her GISP certification, further cementing her place in the geospatial field. Beyond maps and metadata, she’s a geocaching enthusiast, avid gardener, and proud pet mom to Winnie and Lucy. This year, Courtney is excited to support the next generation of GIS professionals through engaging webinars, fun networking events, and community-driven learning opportunities.
