Biography

Wendy is a seasoned geospatial and technology leader with over two decades of experience spanning the private, public, and consulting sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Geography with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Waterloo, earned in 2001.
Wendy began her career at Lafarge Canada before joining the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority, where she successfully established and led the GIS team. In 2007, she transitioned into consulting as Service Group Manager of Geomatics at The Sernas Group Inc., which later became GHD Canada. From 2018 to 2021, she contributed her expertise to GEO Morphix Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in geomorphology and earth sciences.
Since late 2021, Wendy has brought her leadership and innovation to the public sector, serving in key roles at the Niagara Escarpment Commission, the City of Welland, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, and the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.
Wendy has spent her career making a difference and creating positive change within many organizations. She thrives to drive strategic initiatives for data-driven decision-making and implement geospatial intelligence.
In 2015 Wendy earned her GISP designation and in 2017 earned her PMP designation.
