Al Little has retired from the City of Hamilton and has over 31 years experience in the surveying, mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and information technology fields, 29 of which have been in a municipal government environment.
Al holds a diploma from Seneca College as a Cartographic Technician, a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Geography) degree from the University of Waterloo, and a certificate in Managing Information Technology Projects from George Washington University (School of Business and Public Management). He is also an active member of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association both internationally and in Ontario.
"I have been a proud member of both URISA International and the local Ontario Association since 1993. URISA provides GIS practitioners with the ideal forum for vital continuing education in the field, and the establishment of a "wide area network" of useful contacts with similar interests. The educational sessions, workshops, conferences, newsletters, periodicals, journals, and other member services are worth every penny!"
